We wish to make the world more happier and healthier for our elders. We see old people gathering in the evening sitting and chatting in group of two or three. The Club plans to organize such informal groups, including aloof Senior Citizens in the same societies, primarily for the recreational activities, so that they remain occupied and worry-free. Various recreational activities can be planned so that they get an opportunity to mingle with, and can communicate with the like-minded people of their age. The Senior Citizens also tend to become increasingly dependable on others for sometimes even for the minor chores like paying bills of utilities. Youths staying in the same society can volunteer themselves to help them in solving their such and similar problems. Health is a major concern as they get aged. Various health checkup programs can be organized on a regular basis in the premises of their societies so that their health issues get addressed to some extent. Lastly, their safety is becoming an increasingly a severe problem. They are vulnerable to attacks from thieves, who not only plunder but might hurt them physically also. Neighbours and security guards in the societies can be sensitized to provide a special attention to the senior citizens staying alone in their respective societies.
Objectives
1. Organize groups of Senior Citizens in societies.
2. To construct a day’s schedule for them so that they remain occupied and don’t feel “lonely”.
3. To seek active participation from “kind-hearted” youths from the same societies.
4. To conduct regular health, checkup programs for the Senior Citizens.
5. To sensitize residents and the security guards to provide special attention to Senior Citizens in general and lonely ones.
